Play Ludo with the rules at hand

Something to practise

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Notice the feedback after each input.

Understand the aim

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Start with a deliberate move.

The order of play

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

The controls to know

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Make sure you are interacting with the game rather than the surrounding page.

See the idea in action

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Check the stated objective.

Check this before moving on

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
